Kate Stewart ceases to amaze me with her stories. She ceases to amaze me how she can get me to fall in love with two men. I went into this story mostly blind besides the blurb which is kind of vague to begin with. I had no idea I was jumping into a love triangle. My personal favorite. Some dislike love triangles whereas I seek them out. I crave them, and feel their palpable nature. As long as they are written right anyway. And, boy, does Kate Stewart know how to write a love triangle. My chest ached, my heart longed, my heart wavered back and forth, and I truly didn’t know how I felt as I flipped to the last page. I didn’t know if I was happy or not as I loved them both. It was so hard for me to choose that I have no idea how Stella did.
Music is a character in this story. It drives Stella’s character from a young age. We start the story when Stella is a tad younger. Thank god, we get her growth throughout the story because I found young Stella to be a tad overbearing and annoying. However she was sassy, confident, full of dreams, and full of hope.
The angst, drama, slow burn, sexual tension, and love triangle made this book super hard to put down. Kate Stewart is quite possibly one of the best story tellers that I have discovered in the last couple of years. I have some favorites, of course, but it is hard to keep me away from Kate’s writing once I discover it.

Music . . . the heart’s greatest librarian. The average song is three and a half minutes long; those three and a half minutes could lead to a slow blink, a glimpse of the past, or catapult the soul into heart-shattering nostalgia.
At the height of my career, I had the life I wanted, the life I’d always envisioned. I’d found my tempo, my rhythm.
Then I received a phone call that left me off key.
You see, my favorite songs had a way of playing simultaneously. I was in love with one man’s beats and another’s lyrics. But when it came to the soundtrack of a life, how could anyone choose a favorite song? So, to erase any doubt, I ditched my first-class ticket and decided to take a drive, fixed on the rearview.
Two days.
One playlist.
And the long road home to the man who was waiting for me.
